Structures So Noteworthy They're Impossible To Forget

Just about every city in the world has a unique building. Some of them are just reminiscences of the past; some of them are a common, but yet perfect combination of art, culture, architecture, and simplicity. Others still are extravagant showpieces, an embodiment of all that is good about lavishness and extravagance. Which ones are which? Well, you'll have to find out for yourselves.      

Here are some of the Unique Buildings

1) The Crooked House

Its real name is The Krzywy Domek, when translated to English is the Crooked House. It is an irregular-shaped building that looks out of a canvas. The Krzywy Domek was built in 2004 and is now part of the Rezydent shopping center. It was designed by Szotyńscy & Zaleski who got the inspiration from fairytale illustrations.

2) The Basket Building

Built in the shape of a Basket this building is situated in Ohio, USA. It houses the headquarters of the Longaberger Basket Company. Due to its unique shape, it has become a prime tourist attraction in the city.

3) Ferdinand Cheval Palace a.k.a Ideal Palace

The creator Ferdinand Cheval was a postman who spent 33 years building the Ideal Palace. As the legend goes, he would carry stones in his pockets but soon used a basket and a wheelbarrow.

4) Cubic Houses

These houses were created by Piet Blom. He was asked to create a design based on a preexisting bridge. It is said to represent abstract trees, each house has three levels.

5) Indira Gandhi Planetarium

This mind-blowing building opened in 1993, located in Lucknow, India. The building conjures images of Saturn, complete with a series of rings. It is both unique and inspiring.

6) Montaña Mágica Lodge

The exclusive hotel in Chile represents a Volcano. This hotel spews water in place of lava, with only nine rooms inside. This beautiful building is nestled in the heart of a nature reserve in South America.

7) Singapore Pavilion

The Pavilion is shaped like a music box and is meant to represent citizens of Singapore from different cultures and backgrounds all living in harmony. It also features a large roof-top garden.

The world is an awe-inspiring place filled with unique structures, landmarks, and buildings designed by some of the most talented and gifted architects in history. These architects are responsible for some of the most beautiful structures found in countries all around the globe. From towers to cathedrals and everything in between, there's something to be said about man's ingenuity and creativity as he attempts to design, construct and operate buildings of all kinds.
